Safety Watch (for Mobile Equipment, Bottle Watch, Hot Work)
Description
This instructor-led awareness course trains individuals working as Safety Watch including: Mobile Equipment "Spotter", Bottle Watch, and Hot Work "Spark" Watch.
Important: This course is NOT intended for Confined Space Attendants (e.g., hole watch).
This course is valid for 3 years.
This awareness-level training program is designed to be supplemented with site-specific information and training as defined by the employer.
The goal is to equip participants with the essential knowledge to safely perform their roles as safety watch for mobile equipment, bottle watch, and hot work including:
Understand the duties and responsibilities of a Safety Watch in various settings.
Course Outline
After completing this course you will understand the following:
• Duties of a Mobile Equipment Safety Watch, Supplied Air Safety Watch, and Hot Work Safety Watch
• Method of communication used by Mobile Equipment Safety Watch and equipment operators
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
• Positioning during work
• Tools used to monitor supplied air operations
