General Safety Watch/Attendant (SWATT)
Description
This instructor-led awareness course trains individuals working as Safety Watch/Attendants including: Spotter, Bottlewatch, Sparkwatch.
Important: This course is NOT intended for Confined Space Attendants (e.g., hole watch).
This course is valid for 3 years.
This awareness-level training program is designed to be supplemented with site-specific information and training as defined by the employer.
The goal is to equip participants with the essential knowledge to safely perform their roles as safety attendants for mobile equipment, supplied air, and hot work including:
Understand the duties and responsibilities of Safety Attendants in various settings.
Course Outline
After completing this course your will understand the following:
• Duties of a Mobile Equipment Safety Attendant, Supplied Air Safety Attendant, and Hot Work Safety Attendant
• Method of communication used by Mobile Equipment Safety Attendants and equipment operators
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
• Positioning during work
• Tools used to monitor supplied air operations
