BASES Signature Events
BASES hosts and participates in a series of signature events that support our mission to promote health, safety, and emergency preparedness within the community. Explore some of our signature events below to see how we’re building a safer, more resilient Sarnia-Lambton.
Health & Safety Forum
The BASES Safety Partnership Health & Safety Forum is a collaborative event designed to foster a sense of joint ownership in safety practices across industry, trades, and contractors. This yearly forum provides a valuable opportunity for safety leaders to share insights on recent challenges, successes, and learning outcomes. Participants engage in discussions around regional health and safety priorities, contributing to a collective approach toward a safer work environment.
Emergency Preparedness Day
EP Day is an interactive, community-centered event hosted during Emergency Preparedness Week during the first week of May, focused on public safety and preparedness. Families and individuals are invited to participate in educational activities, engage with emergency responders, and learn valuable skills to handle real-life emergencies. Through interactive displays and live demonstrations, attendees gain practical tools and knowledge that promote a prepared and resilient community.
Annual Emergency Response Simulation Exercise
The Emergency Response Simulation Exercise event is an annual coordinated mutual aid response exercise designed to evaluate and improve emergency response to industry events. This exercise allows the opportunity for municipal and industrial partners to come together to test emergency response plans, equipment, and personnel, and identify areas for improvement in a safe and controlled environment. More importantly for the community, it’s an opportunity to ensure that effective communication systems are in place to call for assistance or get important safety messages to local workers and the community in a timely manner.
