The Suncor - Permit Receiver Training DCoW program consists of the following modules:

1. Introduction to Control of Work WBT 

This course is intended for all employees and contractors who are involved in the Manage Control of Work (MCoW) process at Suncor. This includes Safe Work Practices such as Permit to Work, Control of Hazardous Energy and Critical System Defeat. In this course, you will learn about:
  • The Control of Work framework
  • The OEMS and Safe Work practices
  • Enablon’s Control of Work application
  • How the software works using a practical scenario

2. Permit to Work (PTW) Process WBT

This course is designed for all Suncor employees and contractors who participate in the Permit to Work process at Suncor. This course is based on the Permit to Work Best Practice and the Site Specific Safe Work Practices. In this course, you will learn about:
  • Work permit types and lifetimes
  • Roles and responsibilities in the Permit to Work process
  • Permit to Work general business rules
  • When to use Risk Assessment and Job Hazard Analysis risk management methods
  • Permit to Work work flow
  • Exemptions, entry / exit and routine work authorization processes

3. Control of Work Application - Permit to Work (PTW) WBT 

This course is designed for all Suncor employees and contractors who participate in the Permit to Work process at Suncor.   The content in this course references the References the Control of Work Application Manual. In this course, you will learn about: 
  • The login process, navigation, site graphics, searching within the Control of Work application
  • PTW workflow in the Control of Work application 
  • Routine work authorization workflow
  • RA vs JHA risk management methods & uses 
  • Gas measurements 
  • Actions, Assessments
